Workshop on Aptamers and Sensor Technologies

Krems, 01.04.2025 - Hosted at DPU in Krems, the one-day workshop brought together members of the Pi-Sense team (Wolfgang Knoll, Christoph Kleber, Gonzalo Fenoy, Roger Hasler) alongside colleagues from the LIST laboratory at DPU (Juan Allegretto, Katherina Schmidt, Naoto Asai), the Institute of Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences (FZU) Prague (Jakub Dostalek), and the University of Ulm (Frank Rosenau, Ann-Kathrin Kissmann), to exchange ideas and identify new collaborative opportunities.

The workshop featured a series of engaging talks, where participants shared their latest findings and explored new approaches to integrating aptamers into optical and electronic sensor technologies. Aptamers - short, single-stranded DNA molecules that bind selectively to target molecules - are gaining increasing attention for their potential in biosensing applications.

Beyond the scientific presentations, the event served as a platform to strengthen existing collaborations and initiate new joint projects between the participating institutes. With inspiring ideas and fresh momentum, the workshop underscored the importance of collaborative research in driving innovation forward. The teams look forward to future meetings and joint efforts to translate these concepts into real-world applications.
