- Completed a course of study in dentistry from 1995 to 2001 at the Georg August University of Goettingen and received a license to practice dentistry in July 2000
- Received a degree in dentistry (Dr. med. dent.) in 2003 (Georg August University of Goettingen)
- Completed an assignment in Kabul, Afghanistan, in 2005 as part of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF)
- Completed advanced training in oral surgery at the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of the Medical School of Hanover University from 2005 to 2008
- Received the title of specialist in oral surgery in 2008
- Completed the postgraduate endodontic training program of Lower Saxony in 2010/2011
- 2011 Habilitation in dentistry (especially oral surgery) at the Hanover Medical School, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
